Every year we run a few iLAB Impact Awards, celebrating global entrepreneurs making a positive impact in the world. Sometimes it’s easy to forget how much a person’s life can change when they receive the opportunity to attend a program, such as the iLAB.
To honour the most recent award winner, selected from +300 applications, we’d like to shine a spotlight on Mansata Kurang, winner of the 2019 Health Impact Award. Mansata is the CEO of VR Revival – which she founded after turning down a Neuroscience PhD. Her startup empowers dementia patients daily using virtual reality and immersive music.
In addition to combining VR tech and the arts to help with mental health, she also runs a charity using music to help the brain development and well-being of children, at Freestyle 4 Africa Foundation. As the Health Impact Award winner, she received a free spot on the iLAB for Health Entrepreneurs (an all-inclusive package valued at $10,000).
Mansata spent two weeks in Bali learning about business and entrepreneurship, as well as how to thrive mentally, physically and spiritually. She recently posted on social media.
“The past few weeks at iLAB have been humbling, nourishing, fulfilling and an incredible turning point in my life. It exceeded my expectations beyond this world because I learned how to move forward with my business with a clear concrete plan.
The workshops were valuable and exciting, the environment was positive and beautiful, the food was healthy and delicious and the people around me were filled with love and support.
